Mo/?
what should a monks secondary be?
i'm not sure whether or not i should be healing. smiting, or protection...
any help would be apreciated...
if you guys could provide some information about what type of monks are needed the most, along with some pros & cons about a certain build... I would also apreciate that...
thanks in advance!!

I think the easiest to start is mo/e
just put on 1 armor of earth on decent lv, and you will be able to tank alot of things... then move on to practicing movements, put down ward agaisnt foe and have all the warriors chase you inside the circle...
1 nightmare thou... mesemer own u.
monk/mesemer are much better to fight off hex...

I made a Mo/R just to capture a bear in the later part of the game then call him Mr Wiggles. He's a hoot to pound down opponents in PVP and you can just feel their embarrassment when they get mutilated by anything with such a name - until he... dies.
If you plan on playing with pets with your monk in PVP, make sure it's random where you couldn't care what happens to your team since it's just a bunch of ruckus rumbling anyway.

huh? Why? I have Mo/R and i use dodge + stormchaser to sprint with. That is 2 skills which increase my speed 33% and 25% .....Stormchaser can last 10+ seconds too, and you know what it means if you have TWO sprints on your bar which you can alternate between while the other one recharge...?? [oh and add serpents quickness too it to increase your skill recharge by 33% and you can go on sprinting quite a bit methinks? ]
Im not even talking about things like whirling defense and lightning reflexes [evade+block attacks]. Although they are in expertise [thus can't improve them being Monk prime] , the 5 seconds is enough to make a quick get-away. [You are a monk afterall, not a tank :P]
Other things i use with my Mo/R is Traps+Spirits. You drop them and then you forget about them and do your monk tasks. I'm not even mentioning the usefulness of having Ignite Arrows/Apply Poison/Distracting Shot/PIN DOWN on a Longbow and staying completely out of combat to be, well a Monk and heal.
